Thrashing the report of the Comunidade Commission submitted to the government, the Association of Components of Comunidade Secretary Adv Andre Pereira has denounced the report as "illegal" and "fraudulent".
"The Comunidade Commission is made up of members who have failed to interpret the Code of Comunidade properly. The report presented to the government is totally illegal and fraudulent," Adv Pereira said.
In a stinging attack against the shareholders, he said the shareholders wanted to finish off the institution of the Comunidade.
"The Comunidade Commission is taken over by shareholders. They are more interested in the commercial (aspect)...They are only interested in selling off the land. They are interested in the demolition of Comunidade because the original gaunkars have no finance to sustain the institution," he said.
He said the old and original Code of Comunidade which was in Portuguese was badly translated by a group of people who have wrongly interpreted it. "The draft translation of the translated version of the Code of Comunidade was never placed before the public for objections," he said and added that he has placed the matter before the High Court.
"The members of the commission have been dishonest. I don't trust the Comunidade Commission as the report was based on the fraudulent translation of the Code of Comunidade...Adv Antonio Braganza may have not even read the original translation of the Code of Comunidade," Adv Pereira said.
