The Administrator of Comunidades for North Zone has called for the elections to decide on the new managing committees for the comunidades of Bardez, Pernem and Bicholim talukas in May-June.
The process to elect the managing committee board for the comunidades of the three talukas was scheduled on January 16 but was postponed due to the surge in Covid-19 cases.
The administrator, Sagar Gaude has convened a meeting of the component members of each comunidade to elect the new managing committee for the triennium 2022-25.
Each of the comunidade will elect a President, Attorney, Treasurer and their substitutes.
The election for the comunidades of Mapusa, Arpora, Surla, Navelim, Siolim, Anjuna and Naroa is scheduled on May 8 at 10.30 am while elections to comunidades of Cunchelim, Sirsaim, Ibrampur, Saligao, Piligao, Calangute and Pomburpa has been fixed on May 15.
Similarly, the election for the comunidades of Candolim, Agarwada, Harvalem, Pissurlem and Usgao will be held on May 22 and to the comunidades of Guirim, Fraternal-de-Aldona, Colvale, Pirna and Serula on May 29.
The elections to Paliem, Dhumacem and Velguem comunidades will be held on June 5.
Except for Calangute and Serula comunidades, elections to all the comunidades will be held at their respective meeting places.
Calangute comunidade election will be held at St Alex Church hall, Calangute while for Serula comunidade the meeting will be held at Sant Gadge Maharaj hall, near Azad Bhavan Marg, Porvorim.
