The Congress has demanded that the Chief Secretary and the country's topmost auditor - Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India to look into the projects which KPMG deals within Goa and investigate into the payment of consultancy and other fees made to the consultants.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Congress leaders Avinash Tavares and Swati Kerkar said that there's a dire need to investigate into KPMG role which has come under the scanner in many
countries.
"The KPMG had been engaged as financial consultants for the Mopa airport, besides consultant to Investment Promotion Board (IPB) and to prepare the tourism policy," he said
Tavares further said that the Congress will formally submit a petition to the Chief Secretary, who is the also the Vigilance Officer to investigate and come out with details concerning KPMG.
