Cong leaders boost GFP campaign in Mandrem

PANAJI
On the day following filing of his nomination paper, Goa Forward Party candidate Deepak Kalangutkar was back on the campaign trail in the Mandrem Village Panchayat area on Friday.

According to a press note, Congress Block President Narayan Redkar & North Goa Secretary Pranav Parab accompanied the GFP team throughout the day, sending to the electorate a clear message of unity among the alliance members. GFP’s Mandrem Block General Secretary Aakar Dabale & Executive members Pandurang Sawant and Shashi Hadfadkar were also present during the house-to-house visits.

When asked about his prospects, Kalangutkar stated, “I’m confident about performing well at the polls and should win by a comfortable margin. I am very thankful to all those who were present yesterday when I filed my nomination, especially all the Congress leaders - former Union Minister Adv Ramakant Khalap, GPCC Vice President Babi Bagkar, Mandrem Block President Narayan Redkar, GPCC Secretary Pradip Desai, North Goa District Vice President Minguel Fernandes, North Goa District General Secretaries Sunita Desai, Amit Sawant & Pranav Parab, Mahila Congress President Rekha Parab, Nandakishor Nhanji, Dattaram Naik and Ramchandra Palyekar. This has sent a strong message across the constituency dispelling all the rumours being spread by my competitors. I expect more such attempts to spread fake news by them, as they are already looking at defeat in the elections.”

“We are here to give Goa a government of the people, a people-friendly government that will not take a single action against the wishes of the people. We will not allow the fate of Goa to be decided by lobbies involved in coal transportation, illegal mining, shady tourism or land dealing,” stated Kalangutkar, as he visited houses in the area.

Kalangutkar promised that one of his first initiatives after being elected would be to provide special healthcare and recreational facilities for senior citizens of Mandrem constituency.
