The elected representatives of Congress were called in for a one-on-one meeting with the newly appointed Indian National Congress Goa desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao, who is presently on his first visit to the State since taking over the responsibility.

Congress MLAs including Ravi Naik, Luizinho Faleiro, and MP Francisco Sardinha met Rao.

Following the meeting, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik hinted that the new Congress Goa desk in-charge was keen on knowing about the circumstances under which 10 Congress had quit the Congress Legislative Party last year.

Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro said that he met Rao for the first time and that they reminisced about the old days of Indian politics. "He sought an overview of the present political scenario in Goa," Faleiro informed.

Former Chief Minister and Poriem MLA Pratapsingh Raoji Rane disclosed that Rao is in the process of strengthening the party in view of the fast approaching Assembly polls. Member of Parliament from South Goa, Francisco Sardinha also stressed on this subject and said that the party will renew its efforts at gaining a majority in the Assembly that cannot be "stolen away".
