Cong Sevadal seeks to strengthen grassroots network across Goa

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar has called for strengthening the Congress Sevadal across the State, with an emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, disciplined party workers and greater engagement with people.

Addressing a one-day workshop on “Introduction to Congress Sevadal” at Assolna, Chodankar said a strong and disciplined Sevadal could play an important role in expanding the Congress organisation and reconnecting the party with people at the grassroots.

He urged Congress workers to strengthen the Sevadal and transform it into a vibrant grassroots movement focused on public service and safeguarding the constitutional ideals of the country.

GPCC Working President M K Shaikh highlighted the historical role of the Congress Sevadal in nurturing disciplined and dedicated party workers.

He called upon workers to take the Congress ideology to every household while upholding the party’s principles of inclusive development, national unity and public service.

The workshop was organised by the Goa Pradesh Congress Sevadal at the residence of Rosa Dias to familiarise participants with the organisation’s history, ideology, objectives and organisational structure.

AICC In-charge of Congress Sevadal Goa Kalpana Joshi, AICC Congress Sevadal Secretary Bhimashankar V H and National Coordinator (Election Management) Dr Vishwanath Y Chintamani conducted sessions on the Sevadal’s history, philosophy and organisational framework.

The speakers stressed the organisation’s commitment to the Constitution, secularism, democracy, social justice, equality and communal harmony. They also contrasted the Sevadal’s ideological position with that of the RSS, asserting that the organisation is rooted in constitutional nationalism, pluralism and inclusive democratic values.

The workshop was attended by Sevadal office-bearers, Congress leaders, youth activists, party workers and volunteers. Participants were also presented certificates at the conclusion of the programme.

Goa Pradesh Congress Sevadal Chief Organiser, Rajan Ghate and South Goa District Congress Sevadal Chief Organiser Russel Vaz were also present.
