Dabolim Airport police have registered an FIR against around 15-20 unidentified persons allegedly associated with the Congress party for allegedly forming an unlawful assembly and engaging in altercations at the Goa International Airport, Dabolim, on August 17.
The FIR was registered on the complaint of Tushar Kelkar of Ansabhat, Bardez. According to the complaint, the incident occurred at the airport when the President of the Indian National Congress and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, was exiting the airport.
The complainant alleged that the persons, sharing a common objective, entered into altercations and engaged in aggressive and disorderly conduct with him and others who had gathered to peacefully protest and express their resentment over the alleged insult or disrespect to the national song.
Dabolim Airport police registered the case under Sections 189(2), 189(3) read with 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Prathamesh Palkar of Dabolim Airport Police Station.
