MARGAOAs voices against alliance with other parties were heard loud and clear at Velim on Monday, All India Congress Committee (AICC) Goa Desk in-charge Secretary Dr Anjaii Nimbalkar said since the party workers are opposed to any alliance with other parties, the Congress leadership will strengthen the party organisation at the grassroots to bring the Congress back to power.
“One voice was no alliance with other parties, we will strengthen the party organisation at the grassroot level and bring Congress back to power,” Dr Anjali said in a post after a meeting with the Velim Congress Block Committee and party workers on Monday morning.
Dr Anjali repeated the same at the Cuncolim Block Congress Committee meeting held on Monday evening, when she said the need for an alliance with other parties will not arise if the Congress organisation is strengthened in all the 40 constituencies. She was referring to the remark made by Congress Senior Vice-President M K Sheikh stressing on the need to strengthen the party organisation in all the constituencies if the workers are against any alliances.
The meeting of the Velim Congress Block Committee was held at Chinchinim on Monday morning, which was attended amongst others by Dr Anjali, Senior Congress Vice-President M K Sheikh, South Goa District Congress Committee President Savio D’Silva and others.
At the meeting, a couple of speakers sought to know from the AICC Goa Desk in-charge whether the Congress would have any tie-up with other political parties in the 2027 Assembly elections. In fact, one of the speakers made it clear that the Congress should go alone in the 2027 Assembly elections.
