Congress accuses TMC of money play & poaching on its members

PANAJI

Wary of the political designs of Trinamool Congress in Goa, the Congress on Saturday accused the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led party of flashing money play and poaching on its members.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) Goa desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the TMC offers prospective candidates Rs 10-20 crore to join them.

Rao also accused Banerjee of trying to weaken the Congress and help the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Rao said Banerjee was "poaching" leaders of the Congress party and also those who are opposed to the BJP, and questioned their stance of not poaching leaders from the ruling BJP.

He said, it is clear that they want to indirectly help the ruling party and dismissed outright the possibility of having any truck with the TMC.

"They are trying to break Congress, not BJP. That is their agenda, so how can we accept their alliance?" Rao asked.

"In the name of fighting the BJP, she wants to weaken the Congress, destroy the Congress," he said.
