Stepping up its efforts to forge an alliance with the Revolutionary Goans (RG), the Congress’ Political Affairs Committee (PAC) on Thursday reviewed the progress of negotiations, including discussions on a Common Minimum Programme, policy priorities and electoral strategy, ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

At a meeting held on Thursday, the PAC, chaired by Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakre stressed the need for a coordinated approach based on shared objectives and the interests of Goa. The discussions focused on building a common political platform while advancing negotiations with RG.

The committee also reviewed the successful completion of the Goy Rakhonn Yatra and discussed measures to strengthen the party’s organisation and grassroots network ahead of the elections.

In a press statement issued, the party said that as part of its campaign against the BJP government, the Congress has decided to prepare a chargesheet detailing its assessment of 15 years of BJP rule in the State. The document will be submitted to the Governor and subsequently taken to the people through door-to-door distribution during the Goy Rakhonn Abhiyaan.

The PAC also finalised measures to improve coordination among State, district and block-level committees and intensify booth-level mobilisation.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to holding the BJP government accountable and protecting Goan interests through sustained public engagement.

The party will now seek to sustain the momentum through the 45-day Goy Rakhonn Abhiyaan, launched by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on October 18.

The campaign will cover all 40 Assembly constituencies through door-to-door visits, public meetings and corner meetings to engage directly with people and highlight their concerns.
