Chodankar, while blaming the BJP of ‘exploiting’ the office of Registrar of Cooperative Societies, observed that the educated shareholders had consciously rejected the BJP-backed panel in the GUCBL election on May 7, 2017 while electing a panel of 6 directors headed by Dr Anil Naik Gaunekar.
The BJP initially exploited office of the RCS to delay the election of chairman and tried their level best to purchase some of the directors from winning panel through horsetrading and other tactics. As the elected directors showed courage to prove that they are not for sale, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar misused government powers to appoint two directors, which is the power of the Board of Directors to co-opt.
While illegally trying to overtake Goa’s leading bank, the AICC secretary alleges that Parrikar has not even bothered to follow court directives, which is yet another fact to prove that the CM as well as his BJP simply does not believe in any democratic institution of India.
