Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has launched a series of corner meetings in Porvorim constituency to campaign for North Goa BJP candidate Shripad Naik for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
On Monday, as many as 13 such meetings were conducted in various parts of Salvador do Mundo, Penha de Franca and Soccoro Panchayats.
Addressing the meetings, Khaunte was confident that the BJP candidate Shripad Naik would win in North Goa to strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre.
“The Modi government has delivered different welfare schemes to the people at the grass roots without any discrimination. Therefore, keeping all differences aside, the public will surely vote for the BJP,” said Khaunte.
“The Congress is sowing venom of caste politics in society. But voters are very aware of the opposition’s strategy and will not fall a prey to such petty politics,” he added.
Khaunte said the Congress lacks strong leadership at the Centre and are hence making baseless allegations against the BJP.
Zilla Panchayat Member Kavita Gupesh Naik, Penha de Franca Sarpanch Sapnil Chodankar, Socorro Sarpanch Sonia Sanjay Pednekar and other panch members attended the corner meetings.
