A 42-year-old labourer working on a building under construction at Curti fell off the fourth floor and died on the spot on Tuesday evening.
According to sources, some workers were on the fourth floor of the building, when Gauri Shankar Jaiswal, a native of Uttar Pradesh, suddenly took ill.
As he was about to fall, the other workers tried to grab hold of him, but before they could reach him, he fell off the fourth floor and died on the spot.
The deceased was presently residing at Bethora and is survived by his wife and daughter.
Ponda police conducted the panchanama and sent the body to Goa Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy.
