Consumers yet to get entire benefit from fuel price cut

VASCO

All Goa Petrol Pump Owners Association President Paresh Joshi said consumers have not been given the full discount of fuel prices announced by the government, adding that 62 paise per litre on petrol and 22 paise per litre on diesel was still not passed on to consumers.

“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced a Rs 12 (petrol) and Rs 17 (diesel) benefit to people but the actual price drop on our selling price is Rs 11.38 (petrol) and Rs 16.78 (diesel).”

Joshi said there is a differential amount of 62 paise per litre on petrol and 22 paise per litre on diesel and they were unclear if it is an adjustment to benefit the government or oil companies.

"This differential amount should have actually benefited the public. We want to ask the government that if they have announced a particular rate benefit, why is the entire amount not being offered to the people?”

“What is the plan to deduct this small amount in paise? We request government that once they make an announcement, the entire amount announced should be passed on to people,” said Joshi.
