The Corlim panchayat sealed an unauthorised ‘temple’ structure at Dhulapi on Friday in the presence of a strong police force from Old Goa police station.
The action comes after directives to this effect were issued by the Tiswadi Mamlatdar over apprehension being raised by some locals that the managing committee was likely to perform Prathisthapana (consecration) and pooja in the said structure, in order to convert it into a temple.
It may be recalled that the High Court had issued an order on November 7 directing the Corlim panchayat to demolish the structure within three months from the date of the order.
