The Aldona Block Congress Committee members on Friday distributed masks, fruits and water bottles to the public in commemoration of the 30th death anniversary of former prime minister late Rajiv Gandhi on Friday.
The committee members distributed fruits to Home for the Aged at Aldona and masks and mineral water bottles to the medical staff at the Aldona Primary Health Centre.
In order to create Covid awareness, the Aldona Block Congress members also visited the market area and distributed masks to the vendors in the market.
Amarnath Panjikar, General Secretary of GPCC and Aldona Block Congress President Ashwin De Souza paid tributes to the leader.
Meanwhile, GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, former St Cruz MLA Victor Gonsalves, GPCC office bearer James Andrade and former Siridao sarpanch Antonio Afonso paid rich tributes to Rajiv Gandhi at the Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
Chodankar and Kamat commended all the Congress committees in the State, including the frontal organisations for helping people on and off the ground during the Covid-19 pandemic.
