After a successful raid at a mini casino on Tuesday night, the Crime Branch of Goa Police busted a gambling den at Calconda-Margao on Thursday night.
Police arrested seven persons in this connection and seized Rs 2.1 lakh in cash and chips worth Rs 47.1 lakh along with other materials used for the gambling activity.
Police have arrested Kishen Patel (25), Krupal Rajput (33), Jigar Thakkar (30), Pankajbhai Gadavi (28), Pratik Kumar Naik (25), Rahul Patel (28) and Tushar Kumar Thakkar (32) under the Goa Public Gambling Prohibition Act section 3 and 4. They were later released on a bond.
Acting on a tip, a Crime Branch team led by Superintendent of Police Shobit Saxena, DySP Sunita Sawant, Gurudas Gawde and Police inspector Dattaguru Sawant raided the site on Thursday midnight. Investigations are in progress.
