Residents of Curtorim have lodged a formal complaint with the Executive Engineer, PWD (Roads Division), Margao, highlighting the complete neglect of internal road repairs in the Gogol area of Curtorim Constituency, specifically the stretch located near MRF and behind Satyawati Plaza.
The complaint, signed and submitted by Engr. Roque Virgilio Mascarenhas on behalf of the affected residents, drew attention to the cluster of residential houses (House Nos. 664 to 730 and 3/5511, 4983) that continue to suffer due to roads left unrepaired following repeated utility excavations. Over 60 residents, including a significant number of senior citizens aged 80 and above, have been exposed to daily hazards as the road remains in a dangerous and deteriorated condition.
“It is alarming that not even a single meter of this road has been repaired after utility works, posing serious risks to the elderly, children, and other residents,” said Engr. Mascarenhas.
The letter demanded immediate inspection of the affected stretch by PWD field staff, urgent inclusion of the internal Gogol road in the upcoming road repair schedule and a written assurance from the department confirming action and a timeline for commencement of works.
