While the number of passengers arriving and departing from Dabolim Airport has been on the rise, the weekend saw a surge of passengers being handled at the airport.
Sources said passengers handled during the weekend was the highest since the resumption of domestic flights post relaxations following a lockdown.
Sources added that nearly 25,000 passengers were handled at the Goa Airport during the weekend with around 80 flights.
Later in the day, Dabolim Airport confirmed the passengers handled in the weekend were the highest since resumption.
"The busy weekend at Goa International Airport. Handled 80 arrivals and 80 departures of Domestic flights. Arriving passengers 11,319 and departing passengers 13,330, total footfalls 24649, highest post resumption," stated a tweet by Goa Airport.
