Has this mango tree standing dangerously on the main road at the government quarters, Pajifond found mention in the list of dangerous trees surveyed by the authorities as per the Order issued by the district Disaster Management Authority?
Well, a branch of the mango tree had come crashing down on a couple of vehicles in the last monsoon, leaving the tree in a dangerous state. Despite requests made by the Margao Municipal Ward Councillor Raju Naik to cut down the tree and save the life and property of the citizens, the tree still stands tall on the road.
“The mango tree has been posing danger to the motorists and the pedestrians. I had raised the issue during the last monsoons after a big branch of the tree came crashing down. I will take up the matter with the MMC and the district authorities so that the tree is cleared before the onset of monsoons”, Councillor Raju informed.
