According to police reports, Danielle was staying in Arambol and had gone to Canacona only on Sunday, to enjoy the Holi celebrations with
her friends.
Police said Danielle had gone to Agonda along with a friend, but was not sure if the friend was male or female. She then joined some friends later at night, before heading to a Sunday night party at the nearby Festival Valley, where weekly parties are organised in the open.
After spending that night at Festival Valley, Danielle is learnt to have been joined by another friend on Monday afternoon, who took her to Palolem to look out for a room, which according to sources, was rented beachfront room at Palolem.
Some time later, Danielle went to a local restaurant and by sunset, joined an ongoing party at Ourem, the southern side of Palolem beach.
Danielle is learnt to have been at the party till 9.30 pm, before leaving the premises alone. Her movements later were not known and she was last seen alive.
At about 7 am on Tuesday, a local farmer on his way to a paddy field at Katkatem-Dumane, saw the nude body in the abandoned fields and informed the police.
According to residents, at least two weekly parties are organised along the road between Canacona and Agonda, with locals raising doubts about the nature of these activities.
When contacted, DySP Sammy Tavares said they have already booked a party organiser in Agonda on charges of playing loud music beyond permissible time.
Asked if two spots across the Agonda road have permissions to organise the weekly night-long parties, he said he would need to inquire from his local police to ascertain the issue.
