VASCO
The Children’s court on Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by Avni Halpati, owner of the daycare centre, who was booked by Vasco police on charges of inflicting burn injuries on a 9-year-old boy from Vasco.
Following the rejection of the anticipatory bail, Vasco police went to the house of Halpati, but it was found locked and she could not be located.
Police sources informed that Halpati had gone missing fearing her arrest and she had also not attended the Children’s court on Thursday, where the anticipatory bail filed by her was being heard.
It may be recalled that Vasco police on Tuesday had registered an offence under Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and Section 324 of Indian Penal Code and had booked Halpati, after the mother had complained to Vasco police that Halpati had subjected her son to cruelty and had inflicted burn injuries on both his hands using a pair of
hot tongs.
