DBL, a leading private sector road-focused Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contractors in the country, on Monday stated that it bagged a Rs 125 crore project for construction of parallel taxi track at Goa airport.
“The Airports Authority of India has declared Dilip Buildcon Ltd, Bhopal, as lowest-1 (L-1) bidder for construction of parallel taxi track and associated civil and electrical works at Dabolim Airport, Goa,” Dilip Buildcon said in a BSE filing.
The company said the bid price for the project was Rs 125.01 crore and the construction period is 24 months. When contacted, Airport Director BCH Negi confirmed that the financial bids were opened and that, DBL was one of the bidders.
“So far, we have not received any official letter stating that DBL is being awarded the contract to construct the parallel taxi way and other works,” said Negi.
Incidentally, DBL has bagged the contract to construction the new Zuari bridge and has also won the bid to build approach roads on either side of the bridge.
The parallel taxiway is expected to reduce runway congestion and improve efficiency at the airport.
