Delhi Minister Jain unveils AAP’s manifesto for Panaji

PANAJI

Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain along with Aam Aadmi Party candidate Valmiki Naik and other party leaders released AAP's vision manifesto for Panaji on Tuesday, promising to create alternative sources of revenue for the city, six-monthly Ward sabhas and making Panaji a world-class city.

In a press release, AAP stated that Satyendar Jain said that Panaji is the capital city of Goa and one of the most sought-after tourist destinations. Nevertheless, Panaji no longer appears to be a capital city. Hence, AAP's Panaji candidate Valmiki Naik has outlined a vision to revamp the city's infrastructure.

The AAP Panaji candidate outlined his vision for the city. Naik aims to create alternative sources of revenue that will expand Panaji's economy which is currently dependent on casinos. His goal is to make Panaji a family-friendly tourist destination by preserving heritage sites and Panaji's rich culture, the release adds.

"Ease of Living Index released in 2020 states that Panaji ranked 16 on the ease of living scale. The ease of living index focuses on quality of life, economic ability, sustainability and citizen perception. The city of Panaji fared poorly in terms of economic ability, sustainability, and citizen perception. My goal is to improve these aspects, and to bring Panaji into the top 10", said Valmiki Naik.

Adding he said, "The party will hold Ward Sabhas every six months if elected to power, similar to gram sabhas, which are held in villages. The MLA will be accompanied by councillors, PWD officials, police and Smart City officials to hear the issues of the people".
