The Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mormugao has reported four instances of alleged illegal encroachments/constructions by a minority community on Communidade land in Mangor Hill and New Vaddem.
In a communication dated November 18, the deputy collector enclosed a report and checklist received from the Mamlatdar of Mormugao. Bhagwant Karmali highlighted structures linked to a minority community and requested the Administrator of Communidades (South Zone) to initiate necessary action, as the land in question belongs to the Communidade. Three of the structures, each measuring approximately 150 sq. mtrs, are reportedly located in Mangor Hill, while a fourth structure measuring about 200 sq. mtrs is located in New Vaddem.
A copy of the report has also been forwarded to the Mamlatdar of Mormugao taluka for further action. Meanwhile, eyebrows have been raised over the identification of four structures linked to only one minority community as illegal encroachments/constructions.
