Residents of Dapot, Madditolop, Tamnem and Idhar of Loliem-Polem complained that beginning summer their taps continue to run dry through the monsoons and sometimes dirty and polluted water flows in their taps.
Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Ajay (Ajit) Lolienkar said: "Everyone knows and understands the difficulties during summer, but how can anyone explain the same situation during this monsoons? When people approached me, I made several visits to PWD (water supply), but other than assurances, no solution has come till date and people inspite of having rains had to wander around in search of potable water for their day-to-day use."
"My several trips and requests made no difference and hence people have become restless now. I therefore give an ultimatum of 8 days to restore proper water supply to Dapot, Madditolop, Tamnem and Idhar, failing which the authorities should be prepared to face rally and protests against their offices and roads," he warned.
