Sanquelim and Ponda rain gauge stations of the IMD reported the highest rainfall on Sunday. While the Sanquelim station recorded 67.2 mm, the station at Ponda reported 48 mm.

Panaji and Margao received the least rainfall, with the stations in the two cities reporting 22.9 mm and 24 mm of rainfall, but the intermittent heavy showers were accompanied by gusty winds of up to 79 km/hr.

Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued a yellow alert for Goa until July 4, even as it reported the seasonal average rainfall so far to have touched 36 inches, almost 2.8 percent higher than the State’s average until this time of the year.

There were also some instances of tree falls across the State, including one in Pernem where a car was completely damaged under the weight of a huge tree that fell on it.
