MARGAO: While the TCP Minister's office issued a statement announcing the TCP Minister's planned Janata Darbar at the Margao Municipal Council building on Monday at 10.30 am, the local Margao MLA has feigned ignorance about Sardesai's visit to Margao. "I have no idea of the TCP Minister's Janata Darbar at the MMC. I have not been informed about Sardesai's visit to the MMC or the Janata Darbar," Kamat said, when The Goan questioned whether he has been invited by the TCP Minister for the Janata Darbar. Both the TCP Minister and Digambar Kamat had forged an alliance under the banner of Margao Civic Alliance to fight the 2015 Municipal election. Their alliance emerged victorious with the group winning 15-plus seats in the 25-member civic body. The alliance, however, hit a block after Sardesai moved to support the BJP-led government headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parikar. Since then, Vijai's group in the civic body have moved away from the Kamat-led group and has in fact come closer to the seven-member BJP-backed councillors.
