While the Goa Forward Party-controlled South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) gave its stamp of approval for the Margao and Ponda ODPs, Congress Legislators, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and his Ponda counterpart Ravi Naik both stayed away from the proceedings.

While Kamat did not step into the PDA building, Ravi was seen in the office for a brief moment, before moving out.

When The Goan contacted the Margao MLA to shed light on his absence at the PDA meeting, Kamat made it very clear that he stayed away from the meeting as a matter of abundant caution since he was kept in the dark over the proposals approved by

the PDA.

“I was not part of the three-member sub-committee constituted by the PDA to go into the objections received by the PDA. Hence, I decided to stay away since I was kept in the dark over the proposals cleared by the sub-committee,” Kamat said, while making clear that he did not want to be a part of the deliberations and the approval granted for the ODP.
