As per the website, Chairperson Babita owes to the Civic body house tax amounting to Rs 768 and Rs 822 for her two offices located in Sheesh Mahal, behind Loyola office.
The website show that Digambar Kamat owes house tax to tune of Rs 186 for car parking and Rs 8651 for his bungalow located near Pandva Chapel. As far as the TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai is concerned, his firm estate, with address at the Dovondem bandh, owes Rs 3705 and Rs 100 as house tax for the Civic body. Former Chairperson Arthur D’Silva name too figures in the website. He owes house tax to the tune of Rs 1339 and Rs 1339 for the first and second floor of his house, located at Agalli.
The MMC Chairperson, however, has protested over her name figuring in the website as a defaulter. “When the household tax payers are given time of two months, from April 1 to May 31 to clear the house tax, how can the civic body paint anyone as a tax defaulter,” Babita questioned..
