The Directorate of Education has issued a circular on Tuesday directing all teaching and non-teaching staff of schools to get vaccinated urgently.
The circular issued by the Director of Education, D R Bhagat, states the staff who do not get vaccinated for any reason must submit an RT-PCR report, possibly once in a week, to attend their duties in the school.
“Those who cannot produce this test report, must produce a recommendation from medical expert, if they have an exemption for such report for any reason. The teaching and non-teaching staff must also ensure that the members of the family are also vaccinated without any further delay,” states the circular.
Earlier, teachers were informed via WhatsApp messages on June 22 and 24 this year on getting vaccinated for the safety of all
concerned.
A week ago, on July 9, the government of Goa had announced that vaccination will be made mandatory in Goa for all those who come in regular contact with children below 18 years of age, such as staff of educational
institutions.
The government had also made it clear that those who do not comply will not be allowed to attend their workplace till such time they take their vaccine, explaining that this is for the safety of the children.
