A boy sustained injuries after being bitten by a dog that allegedly came out of an open compound gate at Baina, Vasco, on Friday night.
According to Vasco Police, a complaint was lodged by Andrea Flavia Vales of Vasco, stating that the incident occurred at around 9.30 pm on August 7. The complainant was returning home from Baina on her scooter when she reached near the house of the accused, Elizabeth Flora Luise, also a resident of Vasco.
The complainant alleged that the gate of the compound had been left open, due to which a dog belonging to the accused came out onto the road and began chasing her.
At the same time, she noticed her son, Wayde Pinto, walking along the road. She stopped her scooter, following which the dog allegedly ran towards the boy and jumped on him from behind before biting him, causing injuries.
Following the complaint, Vasco Police registered an offence under Section 291 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being conducted by Head Constable Devidas Palyekar of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of Police Inspector Vaibhav Naik and Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
