Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha launched a Rs 66 lakh project to reconstruct a drainage system at the Church street in Cortalim, to prevent flooding in the area.
"This drainage was in dilapidated condition and people had a tough time, especially during monsoons. The gutters would get flooded and water would be on the roads.”
“I have instructed the contractor to complete the work on top priority and in quick time. We will soon take up road works after the monsoon," said Saldanha.
Cortalim Sarpanch Senia Pereira said the drainage work would resolve the issue of overflowing gutters and flooding of roads.
