PANAJI:
The DoE, vide a circular issued on Friday has stated, “The counting of Goa Legislative Assembly election 2017 will be held at Bal Bhavan, Panaji and Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Borda, Margao.”
“In this regard, all the educational institutions falling within the radius of one kilometre of the above mentioned election counting centre are hereby requested to close their classes on March 11, 2017. This step is taken due to traffic congestion and closure of the road.”
As regard Bal Bhavan Panaji counting centre is concerned, the traffic arrangements will be in force from 6 am till the counting is over. The road from Campal Bal Ganesh Temple to Fire Force Headquarter will be closed for normal vehicular traffic, while only the emergency vehicles and the vehicles of the residents will be allowed to use the road from Fire Force Headquarter side.
In South Goa, the internal adjacent road from Bordeshwar Rakhandev towards Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda will be closed for vehicular traffic except local residents.
The entire road from Eurick Silva House Borda to Agali Junction, Gogal near St. Sebastian Chapel will be closed for vehicular traffic except vehicles used for election duty. The vehicles will be diverted via Ravindra Bhavan, Fatorda, Arlem, Eastern Bypass, Gogal Circle and vice versa. Parking of vehicles will not be allowed on the main road from Gogal Junction to Eurick Silva House.
