A banner put up to celebrate Eid Milad two months ago near a Masjid at the Rumdamol housing board was found damaged by miscreants.

The incident is believed to have taken place last night. Terming the incident as an attempt to create tensions between Hindus and Muslims, a group of youngsters from the Muslim community have urged the Maina Curtorim police to take stern action against the miscreants.

Aam Admi Party leader Sidhesh Bhagat has condemned the incident, saying it is clear that miscreants want to create tensions between the two communities ahead of the upcoming Zilla panchayat elecitons.

“It’s not fair to tear any religious banner and create fights between communities. As a Hindu, I respect all religions and will always stand with them. We condemn the act of tearing of the banner of Eid Milad in Rumdamol. We are united and will be united to foil attempts to divide the people on religious lines”, he added.
