Detailed guidelines have been issued for the conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls with reference to January 1 as the qualifying date in continuation to the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) vide letter No. 23/2025-ERS (Vol. II) dated October 27, 2025
As part of this process, all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) have been instructed to hand over weekly lists of claims and objections to the representatives of recognized political parties, in order to ensure transparency and active participation in the revision process, says a press note from the Collector, South Goa.
In continuation of the previous weekly meeting and the submission of the weekly list of claims and objections dated January1, the meeting for the current week was held for the period January 2 to January 8, during which the weekly list of claims and objections for the said period was shared with the representatives of recognized political parties.
All related documents, including the weekly lists of claims and objections, acknowledgement copies and photographs are being uploaded Assembly Constituency-wise and published on the South Goa Collector’s website.
These steps are aimed at ensuring transparency, inclusiveness and accuracy in the preparation of the electoral rolls. The election machinery remains committed to conducting the Special Intensive Revision in a free, fair and participative manner, strictly in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India.
