The Goa Women’s Forum (GWF) has voiced outrage after an escort service featured availability of high profile call girls in Vasco and Sancoale on its website.
The GWF on Tuesday petitioned the Mormugao mamlatdar and Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) chief officer to take action in the matter, as part of its ongoing campaign to free Goa from being portrayed as a Sex Tourism destination.
According to a press release by GWF Convenor Lorna Fernandes, letters were sent to Mormugao Mamlatdar Satish Prabhu and MMC Chief Officer Gaurish Shankhwalkar, providing information from the escort service website featuring availability of high profile call girls in Vasco and Sancoale village.
“The website also has photographs of housewives and college girls available for sexual encounters and the price.”
The GWF has claimed that if sex tourism is unchecked, it would seriously affect the image and family life in Mormugao taluka.
Moreover, it will result in criminals using residences and hotel rooms to facilitate the supply of calls girls to meet the demand created by this escort service website, the GWF stated.
The GWF has requested officials to file an FIR against the escort service in the Vasco Police Station with regards the written material and photographs available on the website.
GWF has also requested officials to get the Mormugao Municipal Council and Sancoale Panchayat to discuss this matter and pass resolutions in their respective council and Gram Sabha meetings to do all that is required under law to shut down the escort service website openly promoting sex tourism in Goa.
