Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from Goa are being transported to the northern state of Bihar.
The process of transportation has begun from both the North and South Goa districts. If officials are to be believed, the EVMs are being taken to Bihar. Sources said Goa may receive brand new EVMs for the 2022 Assembly election.
A huge truck was found parked in front of the old South Goa Collectorate building on Saturday to transport the EVMs to the northern Indian state. Armed police maintained strict vigil while workers were loading the EVMs from the Collectorate into the waiting vehicle.
Officials of the South Goa Collectorate were monitoring the loading of the EVMs, including the ballot controlling unit.
An official said EVMs stored at both North and South Goa district are being transported to Bihar.
