MARGAO
After carrying out the process of randomization, EVMs/VVPATs that were stored at the central warehouse at the Old Collectorate were on Saturday transported to the taluka headquarters in South Goa district.
Election officials transported the EVMs/VVPATs with police protection to their respective taluka centres and stored them in the strong rooms under CCTV surveillance.
The strong rooms will now be opened on April 14 to commission the EVMs before they are stored in the strong rooms and sealed in the presence of the representatives of the political parties. Officials informed that while round the clock monitoring of the strong rooms will be conducted by the armed police, the CCTV cameras will maintain surveillance at the strong rooms till the time they are opened on the eve of the polling.
