PANAJI: Belagavi court has sent auto driver Amirsuhil Shakilsab Sanadi to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the death of former Goa MLA Lavoo Mamledar.
Mamledar, 69, died after an altercation with Sanadi on Saturday afternoon in Belagavi.
The post-mortem report of Mamledar is still awaited expecting to shed light on the assault.
According to the Police, Mamledar’s car brushed against an autorickshaw while navigating a narrow curve. An argument followed, with the driver demanding compensation, which Mamledar refused.
The driver then followed Mamledar to his hotel, he slapped him in the parking area. Mamledar collapsed while attempting to go to his hotel room and was declared dead at the hospital.
Acting on a complaint lodged by one eye-witness Adiveppa Karlingannavar, the Market Police Station registered a case of murder against Sanadi
