Ex-Cong general secy Saifullah along with 16 leaders join Trinamool

Trinamool Congress on Saturday further strengthened its base with the induction of former Congress General Secretary and Chairperson of Mormugao Municipality, Saifullah Khan, and 16 other grassroots leaders in the presence of Lok Sabha MP and AITC Goa in-charge Mahua Moitra, Rajya Sabha MP Jawhar Sircar and former MLA and AITC Goa co in-charge Sourav Chakraborty at the party office in Panaji.

Expressing their faith in the leadership of Goa TMC, the new entrants said that TMC is the only credible alternative against the fascist BJP, stated a press release.

Following the induction, Saifullah Khan said, "I am impressed by the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and the fact that she has always fought for women empowerment. This is the reason for me to join TMC.”

Welcoming the new inductees, Mahua Moitra said, "Grassroots leaders will further strengthen the party and I am sure that with the induction of Saifullah, TMC will become stronger in Mormugao."
