The services of Dr Balakrishna Pai, appointed as an advisor by the government of Goa for the smooth implementation of Deendayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY), have been given extension.
While the credit for initiating this innovative concept of DDSSY scheme goes to the late ex-CM Manohar Parrikar, it scheme was implemented during the tenure of CM Laxmikant Parsekar.
Balakrishna Pai, who has vast experience in the field of insurance services, had strived hard to make the scheme available to many people. The state government had recently felicitated Pai. He was feted at hands of former Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in the presence of Laxmikant Parsekar at Harmal.
