The party also claimed a sense of vindication claiming that the recent political developments were a result of electing career politicians.
“We are disappointed after the results but we accept the verdict of the people with all humility. We wish to thank people for six per cent of the vote share the party got. We will not betray their faith and continue to play the role of changing the politics of Goa,” the party’s Panaji candidate Valmiki Naik said.
“The Congress is the single largest party, but they cannot choose a leader. The reason for this is because, according to their own leaders, the Delhi High Command did not respond to them in time. Which is the real Delhi-based party?”
“Secondly, the GF which was for Goy Goenkar and Goenkarponn, it was a symbol against the BJP. The same party is now with the BJP. Which is the real B-team of the BJP? They are they real B-team.
“On the occasion of Holi, their true colours have come to the fore,” Naik said.
“What has happened over the last two days, the politics. What we were saying for the first days, the career politicians either from the BJP or Congress or GF or MGP. They have only one aim, how to take power and how to loot Goa,” he added.
Party’s Convenor Elvis Gomes said, “We brought new faces, we brought non corrupt faces, now beyond this what people want we really fail to understand. As time comes we will try to meet people and understand them better. We continue to have a lack of understanding on what more they (voters) want,” Gomes said.
“This is our first time experience. They (established parties) know the arithmetic. More than that what is hurting is the susceptibility of the people who are so
vulnerable and money plays a big role in deciding who plays. The EC machinery totally failed. Sometimes I wonder why should we go through this election, it would be better for the EC to conduct an auction of the seats and let the highest bidder take it.
Rather than going through this whole business of elections and rallies etc,” Elvis lamented.
“We hope that the people of Goa have realised and will continue to realise that they are on the path of destruction. We were doing something for Goa, he said.
