MARGAO: With the local BJP leadership questioning Goa Forward’s membership of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai said local BJP leaders should not discuss national politics when they are in the dark about what’s happening in Delhi.
Asserting that neither the Goa Forward had merged with the BJP nor the BJP with the Goa Forward, but that the two parties had come together to form a coalition government, Sardesai said some of the local BJP leaders, who are out in the cold are trying to get in the good books of the new BJP dispensation to get tickets in the 2022 Assembly election.
“People such as Subhash Faldesai had no idea how the coalition government was formed with Manohar Parrikar as the head. These failed leaders, who has been rejected in Sanguem, should not talk much on coalition government,” he said, while reiterating that the BJP had later betrayed the Goa Forward.
Saying that BJP leaders cannot dictate terms to him on his stand over CAA, Sardesai said the BJP leadership has turned jittery since there’s general dissent against the government. “The BJP has no issues in the ZP polls since the government had neglected the Zilla Panchayats in the last five years,” he said.
