PANAJI: Bicholim police on Monday arrested one Priya Yadav in the alleged 'cash for job scam', from Kolhapur. Yadav has apparently cheated people to the tune of lakhs of rupees under pretext of providing government jobs.
Yadav was absconding since last one week. She will be produced before lower court for remand.
Yadav was found with 116 grams of gold (Rs 9L) and 3 cars which are all attached for investigation.
The job scam came to light following series of complaints filed against Pooja Naik, who is currently under arrest.
"From July 2023 to June 2024 Yadav and Rohan Venji allegedly duped victims of Rs 20.7 lakh on the pretext of giving railway jobs. They defrauded Bicholim job aspirants of over Rs 1 crore<" said North SP Akshat Kaushal
Last week, a government servant, involved in the scam, committed suicide, following police interrogation.
