The Maina Curtorim police have arrested a father, in his 30s on the allegation of sexually assaulting his five-year old daughter.
Police informed that the incident came to light after the minor girl experienced pain and informed her mother.
Upon a complaint, the Maina Curtorim police swung into action and apprehended the father.
Margao Sub-divisional Police officer, DySP Harish Madkaikar said the accused has been arrested for the offense of rape. He said the police have invoked provisions of POCSO Act and the Goa Children’s Act against the accused.
Maina Curtorim PI Sagar Ekoskar is investigating the case.
