In the notification, Under Secretary (Home) Neetal Amonkar stated that the Fatorda police station will have jurisdiction over the areas of Old Market, Pajifond, areas near Nanutel, Modsai, Borda, Mungul, Madel, Davondem, Ambaji, Chandrawado, Murida, Fatorda, behind Don Bosco, Agalli, Cupangalli, Amrutnagar, Gogol, Jivottam Matt housing Board Gogal, Munj Vihar, areas near Anuradha apartments and Vidhyanagar.
The notification stated that the areas now brought under the jurisdiction of Fatorda police station will now cease to be within the jurisdiction of Margao police station.
A glance at the notification indicates that the Fatorda police station will have jurisdiction over the entire municipal area of Fatorda in Fatorda constituency, besides the Housing Board area, coming under the neighbouring Curtorim constituency.
Meanwhile, Fatorda police station will be headed by PI Desai. SP Headquarters Shekar Prabhudesai has issued an order stating that PI Desai of TC Dabolim Airport shall hold additional charge of Fatorda police station in addition to his own duties with immediate effect untill further orders.
