Giving a call to fight against injustice and hate mongers, Tushar Gandhi, the great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi on Monday urged the gathering at the third National Peace Convention to become soldiers of peace and not to be complacent even during times of calm.

Tushar Gandhi was speaking at the Institute of Menezes Braganza hall in Panaji at the convention organised by National Peace Movement in collaboration with Rotary International Districts 3170 and 3040, on Monday.

Referring to the alleged mob attack on a film-making team in Rajasthan and the furore caused by the recent executive order of US President, Tushat asked, "How many of us have the courage to stand up against the injustice that takes place in front of us?" But, in the same breath, he was appreciative of American citizens taking to the streets to protest the actions of President Trump.

Madhya Pradesh ex-chief secretary Anthony De Sa, the chief guest of the convention, shared with the participants the seven gifts of peace. "The diversity of our country is itself a gift and virtue of which we should feel proud," he said.

President of National Peace Convention Fr Varghese Alengadan and District Governor, Dr Vinay Kumar Pai Raikar also spoke and Jeffrey Chagas-Pereira welcomed the gathering.
