SGPDA Member Secretary Ashok Kumar told The Goan that members of the public
can file their written objections and suggestions within a period of 60 days from the
publication of the notification. “The draft ODP 2026 has been displayed in the SPGDA
office. Any citizen can inspect the plan during office hours and lodge suggestions and objections,” he said. Asked how the common man is supposed to understand the plan based on a mere glance at the map, the Member Secretary said that any citizen,
having any difficulty in understanding the plan can either meet him or any official of the
SGPDA with specific query. He said the ODP 2026 has been kept open for public
scrutiny of the roads in the city and open spaces, many of which did not find mention in
the previous ODP. “There were many roads, which have been deleted, while new roads have been shown in the draft ODP. Similarly, open spaces which did not find mention in the previous ODP are now shown in the plan,” he said. Asked whether any member
of the public can seek details on the change in land-use zones in the draft ODP, Kumar
said that any citizen can file their suggestions or objections for the change in the
land-use zones. “There have been many objections which were received by the PDA on
the changes in the land use. The PDA will constitute a subcommittee to go into the old
and fresh suggestions and objections received from the public during the two-month
period after carrying out the inspections,” he said.
