The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has issued directions to seal the alleged illegal construction of a villa bang on the beach in Anjuna carried out by noted Punjabi and Bollywood singer and rapper, Mika Singh.
The GCZMA has directed the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mapusa to immediately seal the property of Amrik Singh aka Mika Singh within 48 hours.
The coastal authority has also asked the Anjuna Police Inspector to enforce the stop work order on the alleged construction.
“In order to avoid further damage to the environment the Authority has decided to enforce the stop work order and seal the property bearing survey no: 603/1 in Anjuna,” said Dasharath Redkar, Member Secretary of GCZMA.
Anjuna panchayat member Surendra Govekar and locals Ravi Harmalkar and Gambino Drago had complained against the alleged illegal construction of Mika Singh.
The report of the alleged illegal construction created headlines after the Anjuna panchayat issued a stop work notice to Mika Singh and called for site inspection two months ago but failed to carry out the inspection at the appointed date.
Later, coming under intense media glare, the panchayat carried out the inspection of the alleged illegal villa, last month.
The complainants alleged that Mika Singh has been constructing a structure and a compound wall in a property bearing survey no 603/1 without obtaining any permission from concerned authorities and in violation of the CRZ rules and regulations.
They also alleged that the construction was carried out without obtaining a conversion sanad and further the structure was being built within the radius of two metres of the High Tide Line.
